A free iPhone app for type 1 diabetes — prebolus nudges, barcode carb lookup, CGM history from Apple Health, and nothing stored on a server.
T1DAL is a free iPhone app built as a reminder engine for the diabetes brain. It learns when you tend to eat, separately for weekdays and weekends, and nudges you to prebolus before meals, with a lock screen countdown once a meal is logged. Carb counts come from scanning packaging barcodes against Open Food Facts or from an offline menu of 25,269 items across 91 chain restaurants, and corrections stick for next time. With Apple Health sharing enabled it shows 14 days of CGM history — time in range, overnight averages, night lows, and sensor age — and an on-device language model can explain your week or draft an appointment brief. Seasons run in 28-day cycles with stamps and collectibles that reward logged actions, never glucose numbers. There is no account, no ads, no analytics SDK, and nothing about your diabetes leaves the phone; everything can be exported or deleted from inside the app. It never suggests a dose — that stays between you and your care team.
